Dr. Yasser Elshatory is a board-certified ophthalmologist with more than 8 years of practice experience as a Vitreoretinal Surgeon. He founded Elshatory Retina Associates, PLLC in 2020 to establish a medical practice devoted to diagnosing and treating diseases of the retina and vitreous.
Dr. Elshatory graduated summa cum laude from the University of Rochester with a degree in Neuroscience. He went on to complete his medical degree, Masters of Science degree, and Ph.D. in Neuroscience as a part of the medical scientist training program at the University of Rochester School of Medicine. Upon graduation, Dr. Elshatory completed his residency training in Ophthalmology at the University of Oklahoma, and then a two-year fellowship in Vitreoretinal Surgery, at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.
Dr. Elshatory has published numerous scientific papers on retinal development, and clinical papers in ophthalmology. He has taught several instructional courses and given relevant presentations. Dr. Elshatory is an active member of several professional organizations, including the American Society of Retinal Specialists, American Academy of Ophthalmology and Texas Ophthalmological Association.
Dr. Elshatory is driven by patient outcomes, and the great sense of accomplishment experienced when restoring a patient’s vision. Equally gratifying is the sense of accomplishment he receives when preventing a patient from losing vision. Fluent in Spanish and Arabic, Dr. Elshatory enjoys serving the diverse Dallas/Fort Worth community.
Dr. Elshatory strives to offer his patients the latest, most effective procedures for macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, retinal detachments and other retinal diseases.
