What is an Epiretinal Membrane?

An epiretinal membrane is a thin, semi-transparent layer of scar-like tissue that forms over the macula, causing it to wrinkle or swell, which leads to blurred or distorted central vision.

Is your vision distorted or wavy?

Patients with a macular pucker often notice that straight lines appear bent. You can use an Amsler Grid at home to monitor for these changes.
